The offered set includes the following elements:

1) Plaster formicarium Lubi:

Formicarium size: 20cm*10cm*10cm

Nest size: 18cm*7cm

In the side walls there 2 blinded holes fi10 dedicated for resettlement of ants in case of necessity and a ventilation plug in the top cover.

2) Decor elements: white quartz sand, decor close to natural (moss, cones, expanded clay, bark)

3) Messor barbarus ant colony (Harvester ants) - the size of the colony to be choosen from.

Depending on the choice made, the price of the set changes.

Min. amount to colonize the formicarium: queen plus 15 ants.

The maximum number of ants that the formicarium can hold: the queen plus 500 ants.

Messor Barbarus are very interesting species of ants, easy to breed. The ants comes from the South of Europe (it does not occur in Poland, you can observe here the caste division)

When placing an order, we recommend buying food for ants: mealworm, seeds and accessories: tweezers, pipette and hygrometer. A heating mat may come in handy during the winter months.

Formicarium Lubi functionality

This set is recommended for beginners who start their adventure with ants and want to create conditions for ants that are very close to the natural. The nest of this formicarium is made of light gypsum (plaster) Aesthetically cast chambers and corridors make the formicarium look extremely elegant. In the designer's opinion, it combines features that have not been seen so far in the case of other formicariums available on the market. It can be successfully inhabited by basically all common species of ants. The design has been thought out so that the owner can easily keep the formicarium clean, it also provides a microclimate close to natural. The materials used to make the formicarium are harmless to ants and the environment. The plaster nest perfectly maintains the necessary moisture for the development of the colony.
