Silicone bumpers are glued to the bottom of the formicarium to protect the surface from scratching.
The maximum size of the colony that the formicarium can accommodate is about 300 ants (the size of Lasius niger)

Functionality of the Compact II formicarium:
1) The formicarium is mainly made of glass, with careful use it is long-lived, it is enough to wash it if necessary. The cork, which wears out during the breeding of the ants (which is a natural process), is easy to replace.
The transparent walls of the formicarium allow you to easily observe the life of ants.
2) The use of a silicone gasket in the upper part of the arena causes the lid to adhere tightly to the rest of the formicarium, which ensures tightness of the formicarium (ants will not escape during farming)
3) Ventilation plug in the top cover provides air supply to the formicarium.
4) The side hole in the formicarium allows for its expansion with further modules.
5) The formicarium is suitable for raising many species of ants, so it is universal.
