A free-standing water bottle is not included in this set, it can be purchased as an alternative.
Ant farm for growing ants at home
1) Green House - a green house for ants with a moss pattern:
External dimensions of the whole: 16 * 18 cm
Arena dimensions: 16 * 7 cm
Size of nest part: 16*7cm
In the side walls of the arena there are 2 blind holes fi10 for connecting an additional arena in case the colony grows.
The roof of the house (arena) adheres closely to the side walls and is removable.
2) Ventilation holes in the side walls of the arena provide air supply.
The material used to make the formicarium is plexiglass of appropriate thickness, it does not bend when lifted, unlike similar products outside the myrmecological industry.
3) Protective cover for ant breeding - to choose under the price.
Cover color: red transparent
Cover dimensions: 16 cm x 7 cm x 0.3 cm
The customer receives a cover covered with a protective foil (for self-removal of the foil)
Ant rasing in the Green House ant farm
In this formicarium you can farm ants Messor barbarus in the amount of 15 to 250 pcs.
You will put a test tube with ants in a given formicarium (into the arena), you will not shake the ants out of the test tube, but you will let them quietly move to the nest.
Advantages of the Green House formicarium
1) Formicarium is dedicated for beginners- easy for use and enought for ant breeding up to two years.
2) The colored finishing of the nest part is unique. Not only due to the aesthetic pattern referring to the motifs of nature, but also due to the fact that the pattern on the plexiglass is printed, not glued (as in the case of other manufacturers) This means that the formicarium is more long-lived.
3) Used screws and caps are rustproof. In case of accidental contact with water, the screws will not rust.
4) The breeder has the possibility of trouble-free observation of the ants (transparent plexiglass), and the ants are provided with darkening (when buying a red protective cover)
