3) The material from which the nest is made imitates the natural microclimate in which ants live in nature.

5) The side openings of the formicarium enable its extension with further modules.
Ant farming in Formicarium Lubi Next Step
The nest of this formicarium is made of light gypsum. Aesthetically cast chambers and corridors make the formicarium look extremely elegant. In the designer's opinion, it combines features that have not been seen so far in the case of other formicariums available on the market. Namely, the lateral location of the nest allows for unrestricted, panoramic observation of the life habits of ants. The unique depth of the chambers means that even large species of ants, e.g. Camponotus ligniperda, move freely through the corridors and nest in cast chambers. The sheer size of the formicarium is the perfect answer to requests related to the possibility of displaying it in large domestic spaces as well as in more modest spaces of apartments.
It can be successfully inhabited by basically all available ant colonies. The design has been thought out so that the owner can easily keep the formicarium clean, it also provides a microclimate close to natural. The materials used to make the formicarium are harmless to ants and the environment. The plaster nest perfectly maintains the necessary moisture for the development of the colony.
The nest has deep chambers, which enables the breeding of larger and medium-sized species, e.g. Camponotus ligniperda or Formica fusca.
