Description
Cork nest for breeding ants - SANWICH type
Technical data of the nest:
- external dimensions (with top cover): 31 x 21 cm
- Thickness of the nest part - external 25 mm, internal 20 mm
- stand width: 9 cm
- in the side walls of the nest there are 2 plugged holes Ø 10 mm for connecting to the arena with a Ø 10 mm tubing
- Material: transparent glass and 2 cm thick cork.
Functionality of the ant nest
This nest is quite universal when it comes to the recommended ant species. It provides the ants with conditions very close to natural ones, and antkeepers have the opportunity to observe the ants
Plugged side holes enable the expansion of the formicarium by connecting an arena or another formicarium.
A silicone seal on the upper edges of the formicarium ensures tight fit of the cover.
Possibility to observe the life of ants from 2 sides vertically.
Hydration of the ant farm
Watering is carried by feeding the appropriate amount of water into the cork nest using a pipette or syringe. The amount of water depends on the species of ants and the season. Details of use are specified in the instructions for use.
