Glass Ant Arena (Outworld) – 20 × 20 × 10 cm
The 20 × 20 × 10 cm glass ant arena is a practical outworld designed for feeding, providing water, observing colony activity and expanding an existing formicarium setup.
Its transparent glass construction provides excellent visibility, while the large Ø50 mm ventilation opening fitted with stainless-steel mesh offers improved airflow compared with the previous version of the arena.

Improved ventilation with stainless-steel mesh
The current version of the arena features a larger Ø50 mm ventilation opening. It replaces the smaller Ø28 mm plastic ventilation plug used in the previous model.
The opening is protected with fine stainless-steel mesh, which provides a considerably larger ventilation area while helping to keep the ants securely inside the arena. Stainless steel is durable, resistant to moisture and easy to keep clean.
Two satin-finished aluminium profiles make the glass cover easier to lift during feeding, cleaning and routine colony care.
What is the glass ant arena used for?
The arena serves as the colony’s activity and foraging area. It can be used as:
- a space for serving food and water,
- an observation area for watching natural ant behaviour,
- a customisable outworld with sand, gravel and decorations,
- an additional module connected to a nest or formicarium.
Keeping the outworld separate from the nest supports better hygiene and makes feeding, cleaning and observing the colony easier.
Connecting the arena to an ant nest
Two Ø10 mm openings in the side walls allow the arena to be connected to an ant nest, formicarium or another arena using suitable tubing. Both side openings are supplied with plugs, so unused connections can remain closed.
The modular setup can be expanded gradually as the colony grows.

An optional arena rim makes routine access easier and provides a convenient surface for applying an escape-prevention barrier such as Fluon.
Fluon escape barrier
Fluon creates a smooth barrier on the upper section of the arena walls and helps prevent ants from climbing out during routine care.
