Formicarium Compact with plaster nest
Technical data of the formicarium
Outer size: 22.5cm*13cm*6cm
Nest size: 12cm*9cm
The offered product has one plugged hole, diameter fi10 mm, for resettlement.
Silicone bumpers are glued to the bottom of the formicarium to protect the surface from scratching.
The maximum size of the colony that the formicarium can accommodate is about 200 ants (the size of Messor barbarus)

A cover of the formicarium
The formicarium cover is put on and has a plugged ventilation hole.
There is a silicone gasket between the cover and the lower part of the formicarium.
Thanks to this structure, the tightness of the formicarium is ensured.
Horizontal nest for keeping ants
Because the nest is horizontal, it is possible to observe the ants from above. The arena, however, is large enough that it is easy to relocate ants from the test tube by simply placing the test tube into the arena.
A horizontal nest will also work well for breeding large species of ants such as Messor barbarus, Camponotus nicobarensis, Camponotus sungularis and such species that prefer low humidity.
Plugged hole for resettling ants
There is a 10 mm plugged hole on the side of the formicarium, thanks to which, if the colony grows, it is easy to relocate the ants to another formicarium.
