Technical data of the formicarium

The height of the nest chambers is 10 mm.
There are 2 plugged holes in the side walls of the arena for connecting an additional arena in the event of the colony growing.
The roof of the house (arena) fits tightly to the side walls and is removable.
The material used to make the formicarium does not bend when lifted, unlike similar products from outside the myrmecological industry.
Two partitions (locks) divide the nest area into three areas, which can be gradually unlocked as the colony develops.
This offer does not contain ants.
This formicarium can be inhabited by ants of the species Messor barbarus in numbers ranging from 10 to 500 pieces.

You can also put a test tube into our formicarium (arena). You won't have to shake the ants out of the test tube, but you will let them calmly move into the nest.
An irrigation waterer will provide the ants with access to water.

Advantages of the Forest formicarium
1) Thanks to special partitions, an ant colony can expand its living space as it grows. This makes the formicarium suitable for the ant grower for a long time.
2) The unusual finish of the nest part of the formicarium is unique. Not only because it is aesthetic and refers to nature, but also because the pattern on the plexiglass is printed and not pasted like in the case of competing manufacturers. This means that the formicarium is more durable.
3) The screws and caps used are rust-resistant. If they accidentally contact water, they will not rust.
4) The ant keeper can easily observe the ants thanks to the transparent plexiglass, and the ants are provided with a darkened space (if they purchase a red protective cover).
