Soil Nests for Ants – Create a Natural Underground Habitat
Our soil nests are designed to replicate the natural underground conditions ants thrive in. To fill the chambers, we recommend using our specially prepared substrate blends — including light and dark soil, coconut fiber mixes, forest litter, sand, and moisture-absorbing materials. These substrates support healthy digging behavior and proper humidity levels.
For optimal setup, we suggest pairing soil nests with external ant arenas. Arenas make it easier to feed your ants, remove waste, and observe colony activity without disturbing the nest. They can be easily connected to soil nests or formicariums using our dedicated connectors and flexible tubing.
